Followup on use by MDS Patient

Hello Lloyd, I am sorry I have taken so long to respond to your email. Lots of family things going on here. As to my father. He is doing as well as can be expected considering he does have MDS and also some other health issues. It is my belief that carao fruit has been able to keep him from taking the drug Procrit.

Three or so years ago he was told that if his HGB count was to drop to 10 he would have to take that drug. At that point he was at 10.1. I began to research Procrit and found very bad things about it. The FDA has a Black Box warning on it. I panicked and began to search for a natural alternative and that is when I found carao. The results move around a bit. I understand that for men the HGB count is considered to be normal if it is between 14-18. The best result we have gotten for my father since taking the carao is 11.2. His very last HGB count was 10.9. His doctor seems to be satisfied with those results. As long as he does not drop to 10 he will not have to take Procrit. I think that his average HGB over the past three years has been about 10.6. There are other blood values that are affected with his disease but I guess the HGB count is what the doctor is most concerned about. I am so thankful that I found carao. My father is now 83 and I am just thankful to have him. I would say his quality of life overall is okay. Of course things could be better if he did not have the health issues he has but he just keeps going. Thank you for your concern and I hope this has been informative for you. Keep up the good work.
